Fellowship Opportunities
What's available for our Whatcoat families to enjoy? Too much to fit into this small space. There are great opportunities to get to know some of the new and not-so-new faces at Whatcoat. Some of the events they plan include a Scavenger Hunt, family weekend campout at Camp Pecometh throughout the Memorial Day weekend, the Whatcoat church picnic,a day long fishing trip on the Chesapeake Bay, and more. Upcoming activities are usually announced in church, and will appear in the weekly bulletin.

Ruth Ann Webb is always looking for volunteers to supply refreshments we all enjoy downstairs every Sunday between the the early service (8:30 am) and the Sunday School hour. You can sign up for one Sunday or more if you like. This isn't the monthly "coffee" event which is a luncheon, but is more like a continental breakfast. The church supplies the coffee, you supply the goodies and juice. We also offer some hot water and tea for our tea lovers, and some type of liquid refreshment for the children. Look for the sign-up sheets in the Narthex and downstairs in the kitchen. Many thanks to those that have made our times of fellowship possible.

Once a month we offer a full fledged luncheon down in Fellowship Hall at no charge. Various ministries of the church take turns at sponsoring the coffee. The opportunity to meet and greet newcomers and members alike usually takes place the first Sunday of each month, and it's meant to promote fellowship among the Body of Christ here at Whatcoat and the community. If you've only attended services here once, you're not only invited to attend, but encouraged to do so.

Our Young at Heart group is very active, and plans events in which you can participate on a monthly basis. It may be meeting to have dinner at a Roast Beef Dinner hosted by another church on the peninsula, or meeting at a local eatery. Watch the bulletin for upcoming events.

Our "Whatcoat Women for Christ" group meets monthly. At times they will feature a special guest who'll speak on a topic of interest to the ladies. They welcome women of all ages as they provide a good opportunity for fellowship.

Whatcoat's United Methodist Men's group meets during their free monthly breakfast that takes place in Fellowship Hall. This organization holds a spaghetti supper in our Fellowship Hall a couple times a year with the goal of supporting various ministries here at Whatcoat and in the community. They welcome men, both young and old, as they provide a good opportunity for fellowship.
